The HSGC was founded in 2001 by a small group of hosta enthusiasts. It has grown to include a variety of gardeners of all types ranging in expertise from Master Gardeners to those who have only a few hosta in their back yard. Two of our officers have won the Masters Sweepstakes Award at the GCHDL cut leaf show in recent years. Several of our members have over 300 varieties in their collections. We hold monthly meetings on Saturday mornings starting in February and ending in November. Most of our summer meetings are held in the gardens of our members. We go to at least one nursery each year where we can get discounts on our purchases that day. We are a member of the American Hosta Society, Region 4 - http://www.hosta.org/
